Recently, the golf team just secured another division title after playing at Range End Golf Course. They had many of the top scores. Evan Stein had the lowest score that day after he shot 70. Tyler Fortney shot a 72 that day, and Kellan Smith shot a 77. Marissa Musolino also broke 100 for the first time in her first season at this course.
This year, the golf team has nine members; Evan Stein (Class of ‘23), Ryan Shaffer (Class of ‘23), Brandon Monn (Class of ‘23), Kellan Smith (Class of ‘24), Lincoln Gundacker (Class of ‘24), Andrew Soffe (Class of ‘24), Marissa Musolino (Class of ‘25), Tyler Fortney (Class of ‘25), and Austin Rickett (Class of ‘26). They started their season a few days before school started, and they started it off strong. Tyler Fortney shot a 71 in 18 holes. He was one under par, which is amazing at any point of the season, but especially impressive for the first match. They all had great scores that led them to winning the first match.
Ryan Shaffer, Andrew Soffe, Tyler Fortney, Evan Stein, and Kellan Smith are the five players for Waynesboro that are moving on to postseason in the Mid-Penn Conference. Their first postseason golf match is September 27 in Gettysburg, so go support the golf team!
