Class of 2025 8-1-2024

Hello Class of 2025 Families!

Please review the contents of this article for important information as we prepare for your child's senior year of high school!

This is an exciting time for your learner and your family so communication between home and school is very important. Many seniors take advantage of internships, work experience, college courses, and partial schedules, which means they are not always in the building for morning announcements. The best way we can stay in contact is to remind your child to check his/her WASD email at least once per week. I will also send notifications to parents/guardians via Sapphire BoroBlast so please make sure your email address and phone numbers are up to date in the Community Web Portal.

The goal of this article is to share as much information with all of you as possible. Note that some items are time sensitive. Please bookmark this article for future reference!

Time-Sensitive Information:

  • Senior Yearbook Portraits - about half of the senior class needs to schedule an appointment to have their senior portrait taken by Pictures Plus. Other Senior Year Information:

  • Seniors with partial schedules - Many seniors do NOT have a full schedule for a variety of reasons.

    • Seniors are expected to arrive on time for their scheduled WASHS classes and must sign in and out at the attendance office.

    • When NOT scheduled for a class, administration assumes the student is NOT in the building. If a senior will remain in the building between class periods, he/she will be assigned to study hall in the balcony. The library is not a lounge and teachers are not available for visits during the school day.

  • Senior PLTs - Seniors who are not in the building during PLT were NOT assigned to a PLT. Seniors without a PLT should stop by the main office on the first day of school to pick up beginning of the year paperwork and documents.

  • Seniors taking a College Course

    • Please complete and submit THIS form to the counseling office so that college courses are correctly listed on your schedule and transcript.

    • New for 2024-25 - early to college courses will be weighted 1.10 when calculating your cumulative GPA
