Good afternoon Summitview families,
As we approach the end of the first trimester on Monday, 11/23, we want to remind families of the parameters WASD has in place for transitioning between face-to-face and hybrid (online) learning.
If you wish to transition your learner from face-to-face learning to hybrid, that transition can be made beginning with the new trimester, which starts on Tuesday, November 24. You must reach out to the building secretary to let them know you would like to make the switch before 2:00 pm on Friday 11/20, so that we can place your child into the hybrid classroom.
In order to maintain consistency, learners switching over to hybrid learning will remain in that learning mode until the end of the second trimester, which is on March 3, 2021. At that time, if you wish for them to come back to face-to-face learning, we can transition them back in for the remainder of the school year. If you are uncertain about transitioning your learner into hybrid at this time, we will offer one more enrollment for the second trimester prior to January 11, 2021.
In addition, if you choose to switch from face-to-face learning to hybrid, your learner will be sent home with his/her Chromebook, charger, and any other important materials home with them on Monday, November 23.
If your learner has been in hybrid and you wish to return them to in-person learning in the building, that transition can also happen on Tuesday, 11/24. Again, if you send your child back to the building, we are asking that they remain in face-to-face learning through the end of the second trimester (March 3) so that we have consistency among our learners and our staff. Please alert the building secretary for changes to your child’s educational path either way.
Thank you for your continued support as we strive to navigate these unprecedented times. We are doing everything we can as a district to support your learner as well as keeping the health and safety of our learners and staff at the forefront.
