A few informational messages and reminders as we return to school on Thursday, January 2, 2020.
First, we will be having our Project TEAM mid-year reward Thursday and Friday afternoon. Therefore, band rehearsal and lessons will be canceled.
Second, as a reminder, learners will go outside for recess as long as the "feels like" temperature is above 25 degrees. Learners cannot go outside without a coat if the "feels like" temperature is below 45 degrees. Please remind your child to wear his or her coat and bring a hat and gloves daily.
Third, a few reminders about morning arrival and afternoon pick up. First, please do not exit your vehicle during morning drop off. If your child needs assistance exiting the car, please park in the side lot and walk them to the front of the building. We thank you for your cooperation in keeping the car rider line moving in the morning.
Fourth, cones are placed in the Summitview driveway to block access to the parking area during afternoon pick up. These cones ensure the safety of families who need to park in the handicapped parking spaces. Families should only be parking in this lot if they have a handicapped placard or if their child is leaving school early. All other car riders should be picked up either in the car rider line or by parking in the side parking lot and walking to the front of the building to meet their child.
Finally, changes in afternoon transportation must be made through a written note, signed by a parent or guardian, sent to school in the morning. Unexpected changes in afternoon transportation should be made via phone call to the school office BEFORE 2:00 pm. Doing so ensures office staff have adequate time to notify teachers of changes in transportation. For the safety of all learners, afternoon transportation changes requested after 2:00 pm will not be honored.
We thank you for your support! Happy New Year!
